The renovation of the main grandstand
In 2021, the time had finally come! Formula 1 returned to the Netherlands, back to the circuit in Zandvoort. To make this event a success, the entire circuit had to be updated. This included new asphalt, new infrastructure, and, above all, the main grandstands had to be updated with new grandstand seats. Because CM.com was the main sponsor, we were commissioned to incorporate their logo and name into the grandstand seats. Did we succeed?
Approach to dismantling the old grandstand seats
For years, white and blue grandstand seats had been installed in the grandstand. The first step was to remove them and assess whether and where the grandstand needed to be repaired once the seats had been removed. Fortunately, no repairs were necessary and it was just a matter of cleaning it down.
Recycling grandstand seats
Our approach at Holland Sport Systems is to conduct business in the most sustainable way possible, and this is reflected in our products or, in this case, in the dismantling of the grandstand seats. All 2000+ grandstand seats were collected in large containers and picked up so that they could be recycled into granulate. This new granulate can be used to make new products, such as furniture for around the fields. We also offer these products on our website.
Appearance of the space
After several rounds of discussions with all parties involved (DutchGP and CM.com), we agreed on a layout that has led to a fantastic end result. The photos speak for themselves!
