The bucket seats in the grandstand
The Amersfoort-based sports company SRO manages the stands at the baseball stadium, which is how we first came into contact with them. Initially, it was just a few hundred seats at a time. Then, in 2024, it was decided that a complete renovation was needed for Haarlem Baseball Week.
Plans for complete stadium renovation
After several on-site meetings with the various managers, we were asked to submit three different quotes for the replacement of the grandstand seats. Two quotes were for completely new seats, including the dismantling of the current steel frames and seats, and one quote was for the replacement of only the seats and backrests of the current seats.
High-quality steel and cost savings
Because folding chairs with a steel frame had been chosen at the time, there was a chance that the steel was still in good condition. Especially since the supports had been powder coated. Fortunately for the customer, this turned out to be the case and the supports were of good quality, making it an easy decision to replace the 2,400 chairs.
Disassembly and assembly
Holland Sport Systems and SRO agreed that the Sports Company would dismantle the seats and supports itself and install the new seats and backrests. Because the stands were also being given a new coating, it was easy to plan everything so that it would be finished in time for Haarlem Baseball Week.
After replacing part of the system, the customer realized that it was more work than expected and, unfortunately, other work had been left undone. Being flexible, we did everything we could to fill every hour between ongoing projects to ensure that everything was neat and ready. As you can see in the photos, the project was a great success.
